Being in The Moment

A friend of mine sent this picture (click on it to enlarge)of the mountains outside of Taos, New Mexico. Beautiful, isn't it? Holiday weekends are a time of travel for many people and this being the Labor Day weekend, there will be lots of people on the roads.

Wherever you are this weekend, try to stay present in the moment. That's all we truly have, you know. The past is gone and the future is yet to come. Even five minutes ago is the past. We can't relive it. So whatever we are doing RIGHT NOW is what is important and should be savored. Taste, feel, smell and see what is in front of you. If you are spending the weekend alone, enjoy the quiet. If you are with family and friends, listen and appreciate the precious moments that you have with them.

My friend, Lisa, is traveling the country alone, visiting friends and taking pictures of this incredible land. Wherever you are over this holiday weekend, enjoy and give thanks for each breath and each moment that you are blessed with.

Coming Home With New Insight

Bob and I are back from our cruise. Isn't it funny how we like to go away, but it's always good coming home again and being in our own bed. Ahhhh...

The cruise was wonderfully relaxing. Princess does a great job. The food was excellent, the staff fantastic, our mini-suite was very clean and comfortable. It even had a large bathtub, which I love--not being a fan of showers. We had a balcony which provided us with wonderful views. I saw two whales spouting in the distance.

Another blessing of the cruise was the inspiration I received for my book. I now know certain things that I need to change and it seems a bit overwhelming. But I am dedicated and committed to making my book the best it can be and an inspiration to others. So more work lies ahead. Getting away from it for a week helped me to get clear. Sometimes that is what it takes. If you are struggling with something and it just isn't going well, maybe it's time to walk away and take a breather. When you return, things may look different. When we let go for awhile and relax, we are open to guidance and inspiration.

Anyway, I'm happy to be back and looking forward to sharing more with you as time goes by. Have a beautiful day, wherever you are.

Cruisin'

Tomorrow we leave for the Mexican Riviera aboard the cruise ship Sapphire Princess. Bob's entire family, including his siblings and spouses, nieces and nephews and his parents will be going (14 in all.) We will be celebrating his parents' 50th anniversary. Everyone is excited and his mother is beyond excited. I don't think she has slept the last week.

During the cruise, there are two dressy evenings where the women wear long gowns or cocktail dresses and the men wear suits or tuxedos. All of the men in the family, including the smallest boys, have tuxedos to wear. We're going to get a nice family portrait done. It will be a wonderful souvenir of this celebration.

I will be returning to my blog when we get back in a week, but may jot off a post or two while we're on the ship, if I get a chance. They have an Internet Cafe on board where we can check our email.
