Professors at Carnegie-Mellon University were asked to consider a hypothetical situation where they would be giving their final lecture. For one professor, it was not a hypothetical situation, it was a fact. He had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and knew he had only weeks or months to live. Randy Pausch gave an inspirational and even humorous message, full of hope, about achieving childhood dreams. Here is an excerpt from that lecture which runs about five minutes:

What are your dreams? Are you living them or putting them off till a later date? Make each day count, so that if you were given the assignment of this professor, you could honestly say that you had lived your dreams and fulfilled your purpose.
