Have you ever felt green with envy? I have. Today, for instance, I read where a memoir was published by a woman who interviews celebrities for a living. I'm very happy for her that she got her book published, but in the back of my mind as I read about her good fortune, I was asking "What about MY BOOK!?"
Being happy about someone else's good is important. Envy or jealousy gets us nowhere. It lowers our vibration and robs us of our energy. Rejoice in the good of another.
No one can stand in the way of our good, but we can get in the way of receiving it through our negative thoughts and beliefs. If we find ourselves starting to turn green as we read of another person's success and prosperity, it is time to change the direction of our thinking. It's time for a gratitude pit stop.
Instead of thinking about what someone else has (and you don't), pause for a moment and think about what you have to be grateful for. Okay, it may be that you have ten fingers and ten toes. It may be the great hamburger for lunch. Find something to be grateful for. And keep finding things. Your friends, the quiet neighbor next door, the sunshine, a car that gets you to work and back. The more you can put on your list, the more you'll uplevel your vibration to a point of thanksgiving and gratitude. And from that point of gratitude, you are poised and ready to attract to you more good. So don't let jealousy and envy drag you down. Stay focused on the blessings in your life and your goals.
