Glenda Watson Hyatt is turning 40 this year and she has written a book about her life. This is a real accomplishment considering that Glenda types with her left thumb. You see, a lack of oxygen at her birth left Glenda with cerebral palsy. Doctors later advised her parents to institutionalize her, as she was unable to walk or use her hands properly; and her speech was almost impossible to understand. Glenda wouldn't amount to much, the experts said.
But Glenda proved them wrong. Not only did she manage to attend regular classes in school, she won awards and a gold medal in horseback riding! She married and started her own business. Just recently she spoke at a conference using a voice synthesizer. And now there is a book coming out in November. The book is entitled, I'll Do It Myself: A Collection of Memories From A Woman Living With Cerebral Palsy.
Glenda has not let her physical disability stand in the way of pursuing her life purpose, which she feels is to inspire others. What is your life purpose? What are your goals? Are you pursuing them? If not, why? If Glenda can accomplish all that she has and write a book with her left thumb, think of what you can do.
